tbea signed a usd 23.05 million epc contract for power transmission infrastructures in the gambia

on 30 december,2020, tbea signed a usd 23.05 million epc contract with nawec (national water & electricity company) of the gambia for the design and build of transmission infrastructures between brikama and jabang.
affected by the covid-19 pandemic, the contract signing ceremony was fulfilled via an online video conference.
 “tbea is a professional power energy project developer, i highly appreciate the capability of tbea. i believe tbea’s technology and experience can facilitate the development of the gambia's energy sector. i hope tbea can bring advanced green power technology, high-tech equipment and innovation to the gambia, and complete the project on time with high quality. tbea’s contribution will facilitate the gambia's socio-economic development and improve people's living standards,” hon. fafa sanyang, the minister of petroleum and energy of the republic of the gambia, said at the signing ceremony.
 
the project is the first and only 225kv high-voltage transmission line & substation in the greater banjul area of the gambia. the project will be connected to omvg 225kv substation in brikama, to form the backbone power transmission network in gba, which will significantly improve the stability of the power network and address the power shortage in gba. in addition, the project also includes a new 33kv lines (about 20km). the completion of the project will ensure the stability of the network in gba and expand the power coverage, and promote local socio-economic development.
according to xiao zhi, general manager of tbea international engineering co., ltd, tbea, as a global power equipment manufacturer and epc contractor, is capable of completing the project as scheduled and fully meet the expectations of the gambia and the world bank. furthermore, based on this project cooperation, tbea will work closely with international financial institutions and multilateral organizations to continue providing world-leading integrated green energy solutions for the gambia to achieve the goals of the energy sector roadmap which targets to increase the universal access rate of power to 80% by 2025. tbea will endeavor to contribute to the cooperation and deepen the friendship between the two countries.
in addition, other government officials attending the signing ceremony include mambury njie, hon. minster of finance and economic affairs, camara, permanent secretary of mope, keemo ceesay, director of energy of mope, ousman cham, chairman of board of nawec, nani juwara, managing director of nawec, and directors and piu members of nawec. grts and qtv were also invited to report the signing ceremony in the gambia in a live broadcast manner.
