dushanbe thermal power plant stage ii project undertaken by chinese enterprise tbea was completed and put into operation on dec.8, 2016.
president emomali rakhmon of tajikistan attended the ceremony with congratulations in person, and a total number of nearly 2,000 people including ambassador yue bin, chairman zhang xin of tbea and government officials of china and tajikistan, builders of the project, people from all circles, and local residents, etc. attendedthe ceremony.
president emomali rakhmongave an impassioned speech. he said that the installed gross capacity of this thermal power plant may reach 400 mw; it generates 9.6 million kwh power per day and 235 trillion kcal heat. it satisfies 60% electric power demand of dushanbe area and directly supplies heat to residential areas, schools and other municipal social institutions. with the development of project, the coal resource in our country can be used effectively and nearly 700 citizens obtained stable jobs.
he pointed out that construction workers and master electricians from china and tajikistan actively devoted to the construction of this project and contributed their own strength to tajikistan’s energy construction. the completion of this project marks a new height of cooperative partnership between the two countries in the field of energy.
it is learned that during project construction and operation, 150 tajikistan technicians went to china for training and got improvement for their technical skills, and about 100 tajikistan operators mastered professional know-how under the help of chinese experts and therefore they can independently operate facilities.
president rakhmon spoke highly of tbea and praised that the company, which is reliable, advanced, careful and trustworthy, is a trusty partner proved by many years of practice. he wish that tbea would further its cooperation with tajikistan government and enterprises in future to build more high quality projects for the country.
ambassador yue bin also gave warm congratulations for the completion of dushanbe thermal power plant stage ii project on behalf of chinese government. he said in his speech that, in recent years, china and tajikistan have had a series effective cooperation in the field of energy, and this thermal power plant is a successful example. the project which was granted concessional loan by chinese government was undertaken by tbea. it adopts world’s leading technologies and the most advanced technology and environmental protection concept to meet most of the demand for power supply and heating of dushanbe, and brings warmth and brightness to the people of tajikistan.
since 2006, tbea has successively built the most energy-saving, the most secure and stable projects in tajikistan, including lolazar - khatlon 220kv transmission and transformation project, south-north 500kv transmission and transformation project, khujand -ayni 220kv transmission and transformation project, northern power supply system networking project, 250mw dushanbe no.2 thermal power plant and so on, and this series of projects promote the realization of tajikistan’s strategy of “developing the country through hydropower”, ease the situation of electricity shortage, and contribute to the improvement of local economic society and people’s living standard.
chairman zhang xin of tbea remarked that, together with tajikistan’s builders, tbea constructed the dushanbe thermal power plant, successfully completed the entrustment by the heads of both countries, and realized the solemn commitment to “benefit the people of tajikistan and bring glory to the friendship between the two countries”. in the future, tbea will continue to exert itself and work on to deepen its multi-faceted cooperation with tajikistan government and people and make new and greater contributions to promote the friendship between the two countries and welfare of people of both countries.
