as one of the important ministerial level forums of the 5th china - eurasia expo, science and technology cooperation forum had its grand opening in asia europe international conference center-tbea’s headquarters in changji, xinjiang uygur autonomous region. under the theme of “carrying forward the spirit of the silk road, deepening innovation cooperation, and creating a better tomorrow”, more than 230 chinese and foreign guests from about 30 countries and international organizations had deep exchanges and discussions around the construction of “the belt and road” and the development demand of global economic society and on topics such as international energy cooperation, infrastructure construction, livelihood technology exchanges and sharing, promotion of industrialization of achievements as well as science and technology innovation and policy docking and industrial development, etc. among countries along “the belt and road”, aiming to deepen scientific and technological innovation cooperation and jointly create a green, healthy, intelligent and peaceful silk road plan.
organized by ministry of science and technology of china, the forum is a nonprofit-distributing and open international one held by tbea and other units. this was the second time that the forum was held in tbea since 2014.
the above mentioned chinese and foreign guests including more than 20 deputy ministers or above, such as prime minister kokhir rasulzoda of tajikistan, governor daniel akhmetov of the state of east kazakhstan of kazakhstan, senator and chairman of the national defense commission mushahid hussein saeed of pakistan, and more than 130 government officials, diplomatic envoys, experts and scholars, and representatives of enterprises from countries and international organizations including kazakhstan, tajikistan, kyrgyzstan, mongolia, indonesia, russia, tanzania, angola, sudan, senegal, gambia, papua new guinea, antigua and barbuda, niger, ghana, east timor, east african community, attended the forum. nearly one hundred leaders and representatives from government sector, research institutes, famous colleges and universities, financial institutions, industrial and commercial organizations, scientific and technological enterprises and sci-tech industrial parks were also present.
at the forum, chairman of tbea zhang xin gave a keynote speech titled “discussing science and technology cooperation, structuring interconnection and interworking, and enjoying opportunity of the silk road together”. he remarked that, as a major enterprise in the core area of silk road economic zone and global large energy equipment manufacturing enterprise, tbea actively carries out cooperation in power energy technology with neighboring countries, and always focuses on sharing china’s electric power construction experience with the world. for a decade, it has provided high end equipment to more than 60 countries and regions such as america, russia, india, etc., and all-in-one solutions covering survey and design, engineering construction, equipment supply, installation and debugging, operation and maintenance, training services, etc for countries including tajikistan, kyrgyzstan, pakistan, iran, saudi arabia, kazakhstan, zambia, kenya, angola and so on.
